Connecting Gateway GW100 to Wi-Fi network

To connect, you need a mobile phone with an internet connection that can read the QR code with a camera or a QR code reading app. There must be sufficient Wi-Fi coverage at the gateway GW100 installation site.

Setting up the Wi-Fi module

  • Hold down the MENU button from the overview or detail screen to call up the option. Use the arrow keys to point to WiFi Setup, confirm by pressing ENTER.
  • In order to create a new connection, the SSID line needs to be blank. If this is the case, then continue with step 3.
  • If not, then use the arrow keys to navigate to the Reset SSID line, confirm Yes in the pop-up window, and confirm with ENTER . In approximately 10-15 seconds, the Reset SSID line will change to Configure WiFi and the SSID line will be blank.

Enabling Wi-Fi Configuration Mode

  • This is GW100 main screen, ready for Wi-Fi connection. Use arrow keys to select Configure WiFi and press ENTER.
  • The GW100 will display a short message Activating config mode and a QR code will appear, indicating WiFi connect. Scan the displayed QR Code with your mobile phone.
  • On the mobile phone, confirm the Wi-Fi login information with the name "gateway". This will establish a connection on the phone, even if there is no Internet available. This takes up to 10 seconds.
  • If the QR code cannot be scanned, it is possible to log in manually. On the phone, view the list of available Wi-Fi, select the marked "gateway", the login password is "administrator".
  • The next step is to connect to the gateway website. Press ENTER on your keyboard and a second QR code will appear, labeled Open Page. Scan the QR code again with your mobile phone. Confirm the Wi-Fi login on the phone (Open link) - IP address 92.168.4.1.
  • If the QR code cannot be scanned, it is possible to log in manually. Turn on a regular web browser on your phone and manually type the IP address into the address (search bar): 192.168.4.1.
  • In the loaded browser, select the desired Wi-Fi and log in with the correct password.
  • If everything went correctly, the QR code window on the GW100 will close in approximately 15 seconds. The SSID line will show the name of the connected Wi-Fi and the second line will show the text WS Ready.
  • It is also possible to disable the browser on the mobile phone - this page is already disconnected from the GW100.
  • If the connection is not enabled after 15 seconds, try again. In the GW100 use the arrow keys to select Stop WiFi Config and confirm with the enter button. Message Config mode stopped will appear and continue again from step 3.
  • You can abort the configuration process at any time by pressing the EXIT button on the GW100.

Now you can activate and manage your device on the web interface or mobile app. To do this, you will need the MAC address and Pin of your GW100, which are unique codes for your device. They are included (label on the back of the manual and in the product box). You must keep these details carefully for the next time you log in to the gateway with another user account, or for any configuration changes.
